St. Vincent de Paul Meal Program
Scripture: “For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.” Matthew 25: 31-32
Mission: To be servants to our guests through offerings of the basic needs of life, food, clothing, and shelter.
Vision: To continually strive to offer dignity to our guests, while providing to them a spiritual environment to seek friendship, compassion, and an understanding that they are not alone, and that Jesus’ hands are open to them, His ears are listening, and His heart is warm with tenderness and compassion to their needs.
Food is prepared by parishioners at home and brought to the Church Hall on the 3rd Sunday of each month (or the previous Saturday). This food is taken to the meal site at 9th & Madison on Sunday afternoon. This program also provides spiritual nourishment to those who participate.
