Lector

Scripture:  “Indeed, God’s Word is living and active…”      Hebrews 4:12

Mission:  To lector is the proclamation of the Scriptures to the congregation. It is more than just reading, and calls for preparation and reflection throughout the week before the Sunday Liturgy.

Two Lectors proclaim at each Mass and also share in praying the intercessions of the faithful after the homily. Lectors are scheduled on a rotating basis.

Vision:  The more a Lector reflects on the Word and grasps its meaning, the more it becomes a living Word for those poised to receive.

Meetings: Personal training as well as a workbook is provided.  Once a year, there is an evening of reflection for all Lectors.
